Dust 514 to ask for cover charge

CCP has announced more details on the upcoming MMOFPS Dust 514. The game will launch exclusively on PS3 and CCP's CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson says this allows them to do more innovation. 

CCP has been active with microtransaction controversy regarding Eve-Online and they are possibly about to start another controversy over the upcoming PS3 title Dust 514. We had posted about Dust 514's connectivity with Eve-Online here

 CCP's CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson explained how they will charge players before playing the game:

“In the beginning you have to pre-buy credits, so you pay something like $10-$20 to enter the game and you get the equivalent number of credits in the game once you do that. We call this the ‘cover charge,”

“You’re really getting the game for free but you have to pre-buy credits in the beginning. We might go fully free-to-play down the line, but in the beginning we have a cover charge just to manage the initial launch of it.
