Old Republic has 200+ hours of play per class

Star Wars The Old Republic will feature 200 or more hours of gameplay time per class, EA has announced. We have heard that EA has exceeded $300 million of a budget for the highly anticipated MMO game.

In an interview at gamesindustry.biz EA's Frank Gibeau revealed that Old Republic will have 200+ hours of gameplay per class excluding crafting and multiplayer options. 

As for the rumours of EA overspending on the game, Gibeau said "It's vast. It's a gigantic game. And that costs money. But when you get one of these launched they persist for a long period of time. Ultima is on its first decade and it still has tens of thousands of subscribers and is widely profitable for us. It's just the nature of the beast that you have to build this amount of content."

It looks like Star Wars The Old Republic will be strong against WoW with its impressive gameplay time. The budget rumours may be off the mark but EA has surely put every penny in this production. We still have to wait and see.
