Everquest 2: Scars of the Awakened Beta has launched

Everquest 2 update 66Sony Online Entertainment has just confirmed that Everquest II: Scars of the Awakened Beta has launched. What this means for players is that you can now copy your Everquest II character over to the new test server and play the Update 66 : Scars of the Awakened as long as you want. Scars of the Awakened will go live on April 30th. Read on for the announcement.

 

Everquest 2: Scars of the Awakened Beta

Everquest II fans can now join the new Beta testing server to see the Scars of the Awakened update for the first time. The update will feature the new housing system allowing players to build and sell houses. This unique feature is now available for test on the Testing server that's launched earlier today. If you care to take a quick look at the new Beta version, copy your character to the Beta server.

The server won't be available at all times SOE has warned players. This means, the developers will be updating the game server frequently until the launch of the update at the end of the month.

Everquest II Scars of the Awakened Beta Server Details:

The Beta server may not be accessible at all times.
This server is wiped periodically, meaning all current characters will be deleted.
You can copy your Live and/or Test characters over to the Beta server.
To patch and get into the Test or Beta servers:

Start your live launchpad
In the top-left corner, click the 'Version' link which will open the 'Select Game Version' panel
In the drop-down you can choose 'Beta' or 'Public Test' then hit 'Apply' to patch the corresponding server
Hit 'Play' once the patching completes
