World of Warplanes enters Open Beta

in News, World of Warplanes

World of WarplanesWorld of Warplanes is the upcoming airborne shooter from Wargaming, the maker of World of Tanks. Following a long Closed Beta stage that has seen over 2.7 million registrations from all around the world, Wargaming is adding new features to the game before the launch of the Open Beta. Closed Beta testers will receive rewards for the OBT and the new Unified Premium Account feature will be introduced at a later stage. UPA gives players the chance to purchase one premium account that works for all Wargaming titles.

World of Warplanes Open Beta begins

I am not a big fan of World of Tanks and I most probably won't be a huge fan of World of Warplanes unless I see various units on the same map. Wargaming and the millions of players must be thinking otherwise. It just looks ridiculous to me when I see dozens of tanks driving towards each other without any other vehicles or soldiers around. No matter how many different tanks they add to the game, it will always be about tanks.  It's just too dull in my opinion but that's just me. It didn't stop Wargaming making two more games. (based on other vehicles). They have got World of Warplanes and then World of Warships coming up next. Only if they can combine these games one day, it would be an amazing experience.

World of Warplanes had a very successful Closed Beta testing if 2.7 million registrations mean anything to you. With so much interest towards the game, Wargaming has even announced the Unified Premium Account that's going to be available at a later stage of the Open Beta. The Unified Premium Account is a pretty good feature that allows players to purchase a single premium account and use it for all Wargaming titles. This isn't a feature that other publishers can mimic but it's an ideal one for Wargaming.

Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming talked about the upcoming Beta and said. "The game has grown and evolved tremendously since we first announced it and I'm confident virtual pilots are going to be extremely excited when they get behind the cockpits of the game's truly amazing warbirds."
