Transformers Universe Coming Autumn

The Hasbro Brand team have been talking Transformers Universe at BotCon 2013 and have let slip when we might be able to expect their "Robots in Disguise" sim, although it's still frustratingly vague. Rather than the annoyingly ambiguous "Q4 2013," Transformers Universe will now be available in Fall 2013.

I suppose it still covers the same amount of time, but at least we know it'll be here sooner rather than later.

SWTOR: Double XP Weekends Continue

Who doesn't like winning extra XP? Every now and then, a game developer announces a special weekend event that gamers can join and double the experience points to level up at 2X speed. Star Wars The Old Republic's double XP weekends was announced earlier this month and if you have not benefited from it yet, you still have a chance. The Double XP weekends returned for the 2nd time yesterday. There will another one next week and the following weeks in July. It's time to call up your guild friends and dive into one of the new Nightmare Mode operations.

Mark Kern - head of the team behind Firefall - today asked whether MMOs have become too easy. It's a fair question, but it requires a little bit of thought. Kern's answer was "yes, unless you're playing Firefall," although to truly make that statement you need to judge how easy is too easy.
