SWTOR protested

We have been posting all the game related news for Bioware but this time it's a little bit different. Apparently the developer has been protested for Mass Effect 3 ending and the gay characters in Star Wars The Old Republic.

Bioware protested over SWTOR's gay characters

Bioware is usually praised by the fans of its games and the press. This time, the protest comes from a group of Mass Effect fans and Florida Family Association.

According to the post here Bioware has been the target of Florida Family Association regarding the gay characters and relationships in Star Wars The Old Republic. Florida Family Association wants Bioware to remove gay characters from The Old Republic based on the fact that they see Star Wars franchise as a family-friendly series.

"It would make no sense that BioWare and Electronic Arts would shatter that family quality in 'Star Wars' video games just to pacify 35 LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender) polling participants and appease extremists."

It is highly unlikely that Bioware is going to remove any content just because Florida Family Association protests them but there is also another protest regarding Mass Effect 3.

Mass Effect 3 ending controversy

A group of fans started a petition against the Mass Effect 3 ending which didn't please them at all. I have to partially agree with Will Smith (From here. It doesn't always make sense to ask a developer to change the ending of a game just because it wasn't what you expected/wished it to be. We can't be expecting to play games that all have desirable endings. However, I can understand why the fans are disappointed over the non-conclusive ending. And actually Biowar's producer recognized this too.
