Bioware launch SWTOR f2p today

The day has come. Bioware is launching the free-to-play option for Star Wars The Old Republic today. As the fans of the franchise and those who just care to look at it have been waiting for this day since the free-to-play announcement. Along with the latest update 1.5 - HK-51 which is now live, complete storyline including all eight Star Wars classes becomes available for all players. Star Wars The Old Republic Free To Play launches

Bioware Austin general manager Matthew Bromberg said today: “We want to give our players the freedom to enjoy Star Wars: The Old Republic when and how they want,” as the developer is launching the free to play option of the popular MMORPG.

As previously announced, Star Wars The Old Republic will be available as free-to-play with almost no limitations to the gameplay. All eight classes in the Star Wars game will be available to f2p players, with full storyline for each class. (At least that's what Bioware promises, you are to judge! Don't ask us yet but it's not pretty.) 

Meanwhile, the game's subscribers have been looking to enter Section X and get a hold of HK-51 the assassin droid that becomes available with the new update 1.5 - HK-51. Update 1.5 HK51 features:

Game Update 1.5: HK-51 Activated

Control of one of the galaxy’s most deadly Assassins, HK-51. Waiting for you beneath the icy surface of Belsavis in a derelict ship. Players who complete the mission will be rewarded with the Assassin Droid, HK-51.

Section X is a previously untouched area of the prison world of Belsavis. From today, players can fly to Section X and try to secure the target of their search and gather rewards for it.

Denova: The all new operation:  Explosive Conflict  which comes with a Nightmare Mode. Players who complete this operation as a team will earn the final pieces of the Dread Guard gear set and a brand new mount.
