Everquest : Free to play from March 16th

Last month we had posted SOE's plans for transforming Everquest to free-to-play in March, 2012. The only information missing then was the exact date. Today, Sony Online Entertainment has revealed the exact date for the 13 year old game going f2p.

How exciting this is? It's debatable. Everquest is one of the biggest titles ever but it is going free to play only after 13 years (bit late). It's still great for those who'd never experience the legendary title. It's also positive for the existing players as they would welcome new players. (New players are usually good for long time players in MMOs)

 EQ's birthday is always a big event, and this year we combine it with one of the most exciting things to happen in the history of EQ. Mark your calendars and get ready for one huge celebration, with 13th Anniversary events and the transition to Free to Play both coming on March 16!
