Reserve your Guild Wars character name in Guild Wars 2

As a loyal Guild Wars player, one can expect to reserve the same character name in Guild Wars 2. ArenaNet has confirmed today, according to GuildMag, that they will be building a list before the launch day of Guild Wars 2. 

Is Guild Wars 2 going to take the crown from World of Warcraft?

Players who have been active at least once since January 1st until ArenaNet builds the list, will have the chance to reserve their Guild Wars original character name for Guild Wars 2 before any new GW2 players. This means, as a new Guild Wars 2 player, you won't have a chance to replace an active Guild Wars player. (unless they forgot to reserve their names.)

To implement this name reservation system, we need to build a list of the character names of active Guild Wars players that we’ll reserve through launch day. We actually need to build that list a few weeks prior to the launch of Guild Wars 2.
