Guild Wars 2 Launches Big in Europe

ArenaNet and NCSoft today announced that the popular MMORPG "Guild Wars 2" has reached number 1 in rankings in 10 European countries including the UK and Germany. Following a fantastic launch which over a million players witnessed, ArenaNet has solved most of the issues from launch except for the fact that Digital Copy of the Game is still now available. Guild Wars 2 #1 in European Countries

According to ArenaNet, Guild Wars is at #1 in Top 10 Rankings in major European countries. It looks like Guild Wars' loyal fans in UK, Germany, France, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands and Belgium have all pre-ordered the game to make NCSoft and ArenaNet the proudest companies in MMO World this month. Guild Wars 2 launched only 10 days ago but it has been receiving amazing review scores including DevilsMMO's own Guild Wars 2 preview which you can read here.

Mike O’Brien, the proud president and co-founder of ArenaNet said "Our games have always been well-received in Europe, but this level of enthusiasm is both awesome and humbling. It also impresses upon us the responsibility we have to our players and explains why we’ve taken steps recently to constrain sales of Guild Wars 2 to ensure the highest quality of service. Of course, we hope to remedy this in the near future.”

One still wonders how Guild Wars 2 has sold out the digital copies of the game except for the pricey Collector's Edition. In a recent blog post, our writer M. Growcott had argued whether Guild Wars 2 was too expensive and he wasn't talking about the 149 Euro Collector's Edition.

We can only hope that ArenaNet will one day resume offering the digital copies of the game as there are thousands of waiting just outside the Tyria.
