Heroes & Generals Developer Partners With Square Enix

It's hard to say whether it's good news or not but we now know that Heroes & Generals will be published by Square Enix as the game's developer Reto-Moto announced today. The partnership between Reto-Moto and Square Enix will not be changing the development plans, the developer explained. World War II shooter and strategy game's development will continue to be based on community feedback. We can only hope so... 

Square Enix will publish World War II shooter Heroes & Generals

Heroes & Generals is the upcoming online war game developed by Reto-Moto. It's one of the most unique games that we are looking forward to see released. Heroes & Generals will be accessible from multiple platforms, say a mobile device, a desktop PC or even a smartphone. Yes, that's right, it's a World War II shooter game but it isn't a traditional shooter. Unlike the regular shooters, Heroes & Generals combines strategy and action in one game. Those who prefer the strategy side will be supporting the ground troops as they manage support and reinforcements and help those who play the FPS side of the game. And those who only have access to a smartphone/mobile device will be able to play the Casual mode of the game, and decode enemy intelligence, execute bombing raids provide support.

Today we found out that the game's new publisher is Square Enix who previously worked with Reto-Moto(as IO Interactive) on projects like Hitman. According to the announcement, this is not really new to the developer and publisher as it's been a while since they've made this agreement. 

We’ll continue to run a community driven development, and the main difference to how we’ve run things so far, is that Square Enix will be handling marketing and PR… oh, and we’ll also be able to deliver a lot more content and expand the game a lot faster!
