Iron Grip Marauders: New region

Iron Grip Marauders developer ISOTX today announced more details on the new region Walker Boneyard. The new region has really become more live in the previous weeks. If you are a fan of the genre, you should definitely read the nicely written progress of Walker Boneyard.

You don’t tend to see natural cliffs in the Walker Boneyard, since it was originally intended to be a simple graveyard for large vehicles, and as such a large flat area was chosen where it would be easy to move around such remains. However, over time huge piles of junk built up, and eventually the biggest of these towers of destroyed vehicles and scrap parts became hazardous to move or add to. This was when the Boneyard owners had the bright idea of simply encasing the scrap towers in metal, packing a layer of dirt across the uppermost layer, and continuing to use the area on top. Since then, these metal cliffs have become a common sight, especially in older areas of the Boneyard.

People expect to see scrap and ancient technology in places like the Walker Boneyard, but they sometimes forget that while the business of scrapyards is dealing with old and outdated items, it may well use the latest technology to do so. Designed for continuous use throughout the day (and sometimes throughout the night too), huge cranes quickly and easily transfer heavy pieces of scrap from small vehicles into larger transporters which can then transfer them to furnaces for melting down. Producing a crane which can work without pause for days at a time is no easy feat and they don’t come cheap, but it’s worth it for the increased productivity they offer the Boneyard.

Finally we have this Solid Material Carrier-Crawler (SM-CC), a heavy-duty combination of loader and dump truck in one vehicle. These vehicles are popular at scrapyards across Kathos because they offer power, good performance on rough terrain, and also excellent protection from unexpected raiders or scavenger bands. These vehicles are well known for their ability to survive hits from even specialized anti-tank weaponry.
