Otherland's Closed Beta Begins August 31st

Just the time we started to give up on Otherland, Gamigo informed us that the first beta testing of the action MMORPG will begin this weekend. From Friday, August 31st, Gamigo will launch Otherland's 1st Closed Beta. A group of invited players will be able to test Tad Williams' first game based on his novels. Otherland's Closed Beta Launches This Weekend

It's time! If you are familiar with Tad Williams and his Otherland novels, you must have been waiting for Gamigo's upcoming action MMORPG. We had announced the game for the first time back in 2011 and since then we have been trying to get more details on the MMO. Unfortunately the developer RealU has been pretty silent about the game until the beginning of this month. First, they released this new Making of Otherland video, that Tad Williams himself appears for the first time and talks about the MMORPG, and today they announced the launch of the 1st Closed Beta. Otherland enters the CBT#1 this Friday.

Florian Hörpel, Product Manager for Otherland: "A small, manageable group of accounts will be given access to the servers for the first closed-beta weekend. This is because we want to get a feel for the limits of the systems."
