SWTOR Free To Play Coming This Fall

​Bioware announced that it will be introducing the new free-to-play option for Star Wars The Old Republic, this fall. The new free-to-play option of SWTOR will allow players to play the game for free with any of the eight iconics Star Wars characters, up to level 50 with some restrictions. This was inevitable. We all knew Bioware would add a free to play version to Star Wars The Old Republic that couldn't increase the number of paid members since its initial success at launch. The barrier of not having a free to play option must have been recognized by Bioware's GM, the company has announced the free to play option for SWTOR today.

The new SWTOR free to play option that will allow players to play the game up to leve 50, will arrive this fall. There is no certain release date for the free to play option but Bioware will have restrictions too. The free to play mode will not allow f2p players to access new content. However, f2p players will be able to buy the new content individually by spending Cartel Coins. Some of the advanced player options will also not be available in free to play mode.
