Vanguard F2P Launches August 14th

This was announced months ago by Sony Online Entertainment. Vanguard was going free to play but SOE had not disclosed the exact date. Yesterday SOE revealed the F2P launch details for Vanguard. From August 14th, Vanguard will go free to play along with its new official website, and some new features too. Read on for the free to play launch details.

Vanguard F2P Launch Date Announced - New Features Revealed

When a game goes free to play, from the outside it might look like an easy task. As for the developer, it may be quite tricky. A different business model requires changes to the game which will make it free to play and yet provide enough revenue for the company to keep it alive. 

Yesterday, SOE announced that they are now ready to launch the free to play version of its MMORPG "Vanguard". Vanguard f2p will launch August 14th with a host of new features and enhancements.

First of all, the old website is gone! Vanguard has a new website. You can visit the site now but it has been under maintenance. We are expecting it to go live on Monday. Along with the new website, there are also new features for Vanguard:

Vanguard free to play new features

Vanguard Marketplace: Now the Vanguard Marketplace offers several categories to browse, these being Services, Mounts and Pets, Appearance and Equipment, and Housing.
Starting Areas Revamped: The new characters created from August 14th, will now start at one of the following starting areas: Cliffs of Ghelgad, Tanvu, Three Rivers Village, Tursh Village, or the Isle of Dawn.
Removed Class Restrictions: Developers have removed the class restrictions for all races! Players will be able to create special combinations of character, meaning unique characters...
