What do the writers think? Mass Effect 3 ending controversy

If you still haven't heard about it, the biggest controversy of this month has been about the "Mass Effect 3 ending". Majority of the fans were disappointed with the game's ending, they started petitions and demanded a change from Bioware. Continue reading to find out what other game writers say about this.

Mass Effect 3 ending controversy could be a public stunt, says Prof. Jesse Schell

Just when we thought the controversy was over, I've come across this on PC Gamer. Apparently the writer wanted to find out what the other writers have to say about it.

Not all the writers had the same opinion and it looks like this debate will go on at least until we see what Bioware comes up with.

Let's take a look at some of the writer comments. Chris Avellone, Obsidian's creative director thought it was a good move to benefit from user feedback. 

Games should take advantage of feedback and using it for DLC changes and sequel changes. I feel BioWare does this from game to game already...

Well, Bioware developers must have thought similar as they already have announced that they are working on it.

On the other hand, Gary Whitta, the writer of movie "The Book of Eli" thought it could all end up as a mistake if Bioware tried to undo what they had done with Mass Effect 3.

As much as it left me with many questions and ultimately feeling kind of uncomfortable, I really hope they don’t attempt to retcon or in any way “undo” the ending they presented.

The most interesting view in my opinion is Prof. Jesse Schell's. Schell created three scenarios and predicted the third one. Schell believes it could be a public stunt to get people to talk about the game more and pay attention to it. 

Schell's theory is not all that impossible. Mass Effect 3 has always been popular but this controversy has helped a lot as well.
