Camo Spec update gives players the chance to customize their Mechs
Why is MechWarrior Online so popular? Who plays this game? The answer is obvious. Mech fans. If you can't style your Mech the way you want, where is the fun in it? Today, Piranha Games introduce the new Camo Spec update for MechWarrior Online which adds a new feature to the game. Mech Customization. The customization is not limited to changing the color of your Mech's body. It also allows you to change your cockpit voice which welcomes back the Bitching Betty, the official female cockpit voiceover from the original MechWarrior games.
Bryan Ekman said “With this new addition I’m excited to see a real evolution towards defining your own MechWarrior persona and bringing to life the richness of the past, present and future MechWarrior Online heroes.”
Piranha Games will introduce additional paint and pattern content in the next months to build on this update and improve customization in game. The first part of the update brings the “Dazzle” pattern scheme.
“Urban Block” and “Woodland” designs are among some of the upcoming patterns that we will be seeing in December. “Phraken” pattern is also another pattern that is now available for Cataphract Mech. So these patterns won't be available for all types of Mechs.
For instance the PC Gamer pattern is only available for the Commando, Jenner, Hunchback, Centurion, Catapult, Dragon, Awesome, and Atlas.
Hula Girl, colorful faction banners and some other items will be used to further design Mech's cockpit. So where do you even get these customization items? That's a good question. These items will be available as rewards and purchasable items. (decent way to monetize a free to play game) In detail; Every BattleMech comes with at least one FREE default pattern, and there are 5 colors that can be applied using C-Bills (CB) only
Apart from the customization tools, Frozen City at Night, which is an environment setting is also going live with Camo Spec update.
