MechWarrior Online - Developer Answers 5

Another informative developer answers post has been published on the official site of MechWarrior Online. Matt Craig, Paul Inouye, David Bradley and Garth Erlam has answered the questions from the curious MechWarrior fans. Continue reading to find out about the damage engine in MechWarrior Online as well as the environment effects on gameplay.

 

 

MechWarrior Online - Developer answers 5

In the latest MechWarrior Online developer answers sessions, development team over at Piranha Games answered a lot of question from the fans eagerly waiting for the release of the game.

Developers covered details like reconfigurable keys to damage engine of the game making it possible for all the weapons and equipment to suffer damage, producing gameplay effects. 

There are also gameplay related questions answered such as modifying the HUD colours and how you would be taking out Mech's with head shots or effective torso shots.

If you were to focus on taking out just their head or center torso, they would die well before the percentage reaches zero.

Developers also shed light on the environment conditions in game. Apparently, unlike Planetside 2 (that we have mentioned about it here), MechWarrior Online will not feature a dynamic weather system.

Another question was if there would be a manual override to set weapon convergence to a set range. Developers answered "No" as this feature won't be implemented at launch but according to the developer, the idea is on the table. (- How is that all the ideas are always on the table when you ask developers? I am yet to see a developer that says "That's a very unique idea, thanks.")
