MechWarrior Online Gets New 8vs8 Match Group Matchmaking

Piranha Games announced new features for its Mech simulator; MechWarrior Online. 8vs8 group matchmaking feature will allow players to create 8vs8 custom matches. There are other features being introduced, such as the new premium Mech; the Ilya Morumets. Piranha has not forgotten to add Holiday special items too. MechWarrior Online's new features announced

MechWarrior Online is getting all more competitive with the addition of the new matchmaking system that allows players to create an 8vs8 group match. The new matchmaker is introduced along with the new Hero Premium Mech: Ilya Morumets.

"With the new 8-player group vs. group action and ECM, the competitive element in the game has been upped in a major way," said Bryan Ekman, creative director, Piranha Games. 

The new matchmaking system builds upon the old 4vs4 group matches. The difference is, now players can create groups of 8 players and there won't be any weight class restrictions, allowing players to choose any class they want. This also speeds up the match-making. The downside is, you now need more friends to stay competitive. 

Piranha Games developers will keep on working on improving the matchmaking system and in the next phase, they will be adding more functions such as the Merc Corp, competitive league players and more.

Scouts will find a new defensive support, the new Electronic Counter Measure Suite (ECM). ECM is an advanced electronic warfare suite that will make it harder for enemy units to detect your Mechs on radar.

The disrupt funciton of the suite will jam the locking devices, making it twice as long to lock on to your Mech. 

The first heavy hero Mech since the end of the previous Founder's Program is coming to MWO.
