Wakfu release date announced

Ankama's upcoming MMORPG Wakfu is currently in open beta stage. The strategy game is going to be released on February 29th according to Ankama's latest press release. This will be Ankama's second MMORPG following the launch of DOFUS 8 years ago.

Wakfu is a new MMORPG developed by Ankama games. The game is set in the same universe as Ankama's debut title DOFUS that has attracted multiple millions of players since its launch in 2004. Wakfu includes the same type of humour as DOFUS.

Wakfu features a turn based tactical combat system. There are various character classes and it features a unique ecological and political environment. Players are allowed to choose their own nation and expand their territories in a way they choose... Economy is shaped by player decisions. There are 16 professions available and players will be allowed to choose a profession and build on it as they master their profession. 

From Ankama's announcement:

"Will they choose to preserve their natural resources or exploit them? And what impact will each player’s decisions have on the evolution of their character and their Nation…?"
