in News, PlanetSide 2

Planetside 2 infiltratorBefore you hit the panic button, do not! Earlier today, Prosieben.Sat1 the European publisher of Planetside 2 warned its community about a (potential) security breach to its systems. Lucky for European Planetside 2 fans, the breach was not a serious one, all account information remained safe and encrypted. Sat1 has also sent out e-mails to the accounts affected and asked account owners to simply change their passwords. Read on for the full story.

Planetside 2 is published by ProsiebenSat.1 in Europe and earlier this morning, they posted about a possible security breach to their systems. This caused a little bit of a panic among the community but actually it was nothing serious as Sat1 confimed that all account information remained untouched and encrypted. They still think some accounts could have been compromised...

We were able to detect the problem promptly and took all necessary action to rectify the issue.

Your account data is encrypted with us for your security. Nevertheless, we have decided to take preventative measures in order to ensure the highest degree of security.

Sat1 didn't forget to remind players to update their passwords. Don't forget guys, there are some simple precautions to keep your accounts safe. Pick a password of at least 8 characters and preferably a combination of lowercase and uppercase characters as well as special characters (*,?,_ etc)

This is still only limited to Sat1 accounts and doesn't involve SOE accounts in NA and other countries.
