WB invests in Inplay to make new MMOs

Inplay Interactive, the Korean games development studio has reached an agreement with Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment will be investing in the Korean developer and this means we will most likely be playing new Batman, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter games soon.

Warner Bros IE has reached an agreement with Inplay Interactive, the Korean developer who is making FEAR Origin Online game.

The company has announced the agreement today and mentioned the franchises such as Batman, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, hinting new games to be developed however there is not much more information available yet.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is a global interactive entertainment group well known for publishing quality game titles based on new IP, as well as world renown properties such as Batman, The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.

With this investment Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment becomes one of the major shareholders of Inplay Interactive.

Inplay is now developing F.E.A.R.: Origin Online, an online FPS game based on Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s original IP, F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon). The game is planned for launch in late 2012.
