Benefits of MMO

So it's officially official, playing video games can help you physically, mentally and socially. What a way to go into the New Year. In case you missed our report of Scott Steinburg's new book, “The Modern Parent's Guide to Kids and Video Games,” the idea behind it is that a parent should know about the positive side of playing video games, not just the negatives they read about in the daily newspapers. Sure, the tabloids are unlikely to report on something positive, relying instead on doom and gloom, but....

MMO games in 2012

The Christmas celebrations are over, gone is the need to feel festive and merry. Now we can start complaining about the cost (remember this simple health tip: sit down before opening your next credit card statement) and the quality of the TV over the festive period. Of course, we have one more hurdle to get over before everything returns to normal and all those annoying 14 year olds stop hanging around in public places, spitting on things and apparently chewing on one another's faces. Just one more week until the madness can stop, just one more thing we need to get out of the way.

MMO widespread

There was a time, not so long ago, when somebody who played an MMO was painted as the biggest geek; somebody who had no friends outside of the virtual realm, no chance at romance and the life prospects of a slightly used grapefruit. This image is very slowly changing, thanks in part to Felicia Day who’s both attractive and a gamer. But there’s also another reason that the image of the MMO gamer is changing, and I think it’s fair to blame Facebook.
