Age of Conan : Now free to play!

Age of Conan joins the free to play MMOs as of today. In an official announcement by Funcom, the publisher of Age of Conan, the ever growing interest for free-to-play games is highlighted by Morten Larssen, the senior VP of sales and marketing. Changes of content since the launch is posted on the website as a summary as well.

Age of Conan "Unchained" is launched and now the game is FREE TO PLAY. Of course there will be microtransactions as in most of the games. There will also be an optional subscription premium package that will be sold at $15/mo which was originally the monthly subscription fee of the game.

"The great potential provided by the hybrid business model, and with the ever growing interest for free-to-play games, bringing 'Age of Conan' into this market is undoubtedly the logical next step for the title," said senior VP of sales & marketing Morten Larssen in the announcement.
