Survarium: MMO based on STALKER
If you ever played STALKER, you should know what a great example of a post apocalytpic game it was. The company behind STALKER, Vostok Games was working on a 2nd STALKER game but things didn't go as planned and the developer announced that they canceled the project.
The good news for MMO gamers is that the company is now working on a MMO game based on STALKER. The game is named "Survarium" and it refers to the survival of mankind.
The idea is brand new and the development will continue until the end of 2013.
Project Lead Ruslan Didenko said:
"The concept of Survarium is a next evolution step for the idea of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. we’ve been working on for the last ten years. Survarium will go way further forcing mankind to fight for survival not only within the closed area of Chernobyl zone, but also far beyond."
And the lead designer of the game Aleksey Sytianov talked about the interaction between technology and nature and how technolgy can tilt from rational to mystical because of nature.
"Technology versus nature, rational versus mystical. Such a confrontation enables us to take a new look at the current happenings in our world, Survarium will offer players an atmospheric world of civilization crash, filled with factions and loners, stalkers and hunters surviving in a wild anomalous environment."
