Star Trek Online: Season 7 plans revealed

Star Trek Online's executive producer revealed the development team's plans for Season 7 of the game while discussing the final changes regarding Season 6 that is going to launch soon. In the next season of Star Trek Online, fans will be introduced Tholians and a new region. Read on for all the details.

Star Trek Online's Season 7 plans unveiled

Having gone the free-to-play, Star Trek Online's development team has been working on the next big update, Season 6 : Under Siege for the Sci-Fi MMO. 

As the team had made changes before launching the f2p, players were finally allowed to progress faster. As many players have leveled up to the maximum level, the team has prepared the next content update Season 6 : Under Siege.

Season 6, the upcoming update incorporates many requests from the 8000+ Fleets by offering more features and gameplay mechanics designed for Fleets.

There is the new Advancement System that will allow Fleets to collectively own and operate “Holdings” that represent infrastructure within the STO Galaxy. The Fleet Starbase is going to be the first Holidng.

Fleets will range in size from 5 up to 500 players and all sizes of Fleets will be offered  challenges and there will be rewards available to all Fleet members. However, a Fleet with less than 5 members will find it almost incredibly difficult to reach maximum level.

Season 7 to introduce Tholians

Next update will bring Tholians a new enemy group, that are iconic aliens, made famous in the Star Trek episode “Tholian Web”.

Tholians have a mastery over energy web-weaving that will make life harder for some players and their ships.

Tholians first appear in Season 6 but wait for Season 7 for the real deal.

Tholians will use these matrix of pure energy to trap enemies and players will have to react fast before the web closes in.

The Tholians will make their introduction in “Under Siege”, but Season 7 will place them in the center stage, which is coming later this year.

Aside from the Tholisand Season 7 will also be adding a new sector and content to the game.
