In a recent interview, Funcom's developers working on The Secret World talked about the success of the modern day MMO, the free-to-play plans for The Secret World. In the interview they also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of subscription model which they plan to stick with. Guild Wars 2: Latest Update Adjust Difficulty And Dungeon Rewards

Yesterday's Guild Wars 2 Update is quite a large update. The update introduces significant changes to the Storyline difficulty and Dungeon Rewards as well as bug fixes, professions adjustments and a PvP exploit patch. While the new dungeon reward will stop some of the exploits, it is still not perfect as ArenaNet promises to keep working on this for future updates.
