Fey ForestFey Forest might seem like a far cry from the Isle of Dawn. It’s less open, with thicker tree lines and even less friendly locals (if that could be possible), with tight paths and large groups of monsters. Occasionally, as you travel on your way, you’ll find a house or a couple of people doing something for the war effort, but it isn’t difficult to see that the forest is owned entirely by the faeries, gnomes and other natives. Fey Forest might seem completely different from the Isle of Dawn, that’s true,  but underneath the surface there is trouble brewing, trouble that has its roots on Dawn and in the return of the malevolent demon god Lok.

TERA not a WOW cloneI read an article this week; I’m not going to bother to link it because it’s not worth your time, in which the author asserted that the MMO is a dying breed. Nobody’s playing them, he said, and nobody’s playing them because every game that comes out is a World of Warcraft clone. Let’s ignore, for a second, that the MMO world is far from under-populated and that there are plenty of games worth playing on the market today that were only released over the last 12 months. What annoyed me more than these rather loose opinions were the range of games he used as examples. The most shocking was his inclusion of TERA, a game that is about as far from a WoW Clone as is possible.

TERA weekly review part 4It was time to leave the Island of Dawn, I’d done everything I possibly could here and, after performing a little bit of a clean-up, I knew it was time to go. There were still many mysteries from my time on the Island: where was Elleon, the commander of the first wave of soldiers on the island? Why were the demons, usually so mercenary in their attitude, so hell-bent on attacking us? This week, at long last, I was finally time to start getting answers. But it wouldn’t be as easy as all that. I’d need to kill Kugai, explore my way into Karascha’s layer and struggle against him until he lay defeated and, finally, hop a life on a Pegasus on my way through to the grand city of Velika. It was going to be a busy, action-packed week, a staunch difference after the grind that was last week.
