Diablo 3: Who is going to buy it online now!
Do you plan to start playing Diablo 3 this weekend? Make sure you buy the retail version! So much for your plans to buy Diablo 3 digitally... Blizzard today announced that it has to make players wait up to 72 hours at Starter Edition of the game if they buy the game online. Another reason to go back to buying retail versions of games...
On Wednesday, we posted here about digital copy owners of the game had problems earning XP following Diablo 3's patch 1.03. Today it got even worse for those who buy the game online.
Patch 1.03 introduced a nasty feature that limits online purchasers of the game to Starter Edition for a period of up to 72 hours, in which Blizzard claims checking potentially fraudulent transactions. We don't know if anyone will still go and buy Diablo 3 online after this unacceptable feature.
Blizzard representative said that this is to check every new account and under normal conditions it would take less than 72 hours. This doesn't make it right either. We hope to see nothing like this in the future. As a gamer we are yet to see any real advantage, such as discounts (as the digital copy costs much more less to the publisher) and now we have to put up with its disadvantages? Absolutely not!
