Jagex suspends Stellar Dawn
UK based development studio Jagex decided to suspend Stellar Dawn, the Sci-Fi MMO. The developer had revealed the free to play MMO in 2010. After partnering with Hasbro to make a Transformers Universe MMO last year, the Sci-Fi MMO lost its importance.
Stellar Dawn has been suspended by developer Jagex, according to Gamasutra. The company has been focusing on its other projects, Runescape and the currently under development "Transformers Universe".
"This year is set to be our biggest year to date and it's vital that we ensure that we’re in the best possible position to deliver on our ambitious plans," Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard told Develop.
"This is not a decision we have taken lightly; the Stellar Dawn team has achieved a great deal developing the game and should rightly be proud of their achievements so far," he added.
As the development of Stellar Dawn has been suspended, the company has also let go of its 12 employees meanwhile the rest of the Stellar Dawn team has been relocated to other projects.
Transformers Universe on the other hand is expected to be released later this year.
