TERA won't have PvP Battlegrounds at launch

in News, TERA

This is not exactly new to TERA's fans but it's now official. En Masse has announced on its official message board that the highly anticipated MMO "TERA" won't have PvP battlegrounds feature at launch as the player-vs-player battle mode needs a lot of work.

TERA PvP Battlegrounds is delayed

Now we know it's really delayed. It has been discussed on TERA message boards since last week but it's now official and TERA's player versus player battle mode will not be available in game when TERA goes live in the first week of May.

The reason is that the PvP mode Battlegrounds still has issues to address before the developer can say it's ready for release. The initial guess is that PvP Battlegrounds will arrive with an update later this Summer.

"We want to get it right from the start. This means that battlegrounds will be a post-launch addition to the game while we hammer away at making them meet our high standard of quality, rooting out exploits, and maximizing fun factor. While we really wanted to have battlegrounds for launch, we think you'll agree that this added time means a more polished feature and overall experience. Like you, we also think that waiting sucks. The good news is twofold: while we're aiming to introduce battlegrounds late this summer, we'll showcase the political system at launch with popular voting as the initial election method for all provinces. On a related note, we're working to make it so that guilds will be able to declare war on each other regardless of server ruleset."
