Read on for the details of Warface's incredible run in Russia and why it's become so successful.
Warface Sets Concurency Record: 145 thousand players
2013 is going to be the year of shooter games. This sounds cliche, doesn't it? I really don't say this because FPS games are always popular. This is really one special year for the genre. With titles like Planetside 2 and Defiance out there, the genre is already strong. But it's only going to get more interesting and more competitive when Warface joins them.
Warface has actually been the top FPS game in Russia. Since its launch back in April 2012, the game has won the "Game of the Year" at Russian Games Developer Conference and it has had 9 million registrations only in Russia.
Today, Crytek has let us know of a new record, not only for the franchise but perhaps for the genre too. Warface had 145,012 players playing simultaneously on the game's Alfa server in Russia on January 26, 2013.

There is no set date for Warface's launch in Europe and North America but it's expected in Q3.
