guild wars 2 the razing updateVolunteers gathered from all over Tyria in the hopes of pushing back The Gathering Storm. So far, they’ve succeeded. Every attempt to push further south has resulted in the dredge being pushed back by the hundreds of men and women working towards their Living Story achievement (and saving the world, of course…). They’ve not only fought to protect the weak, the injured and dying, but they’ve supported them as well. Whether it’s healing on the side of the road or picking up mementos to bring back to a loved one, the people of Tyria have united against a force that has, until now, been easy to repel. But in the distance comes the sound of battle. Guild Wars 2 Diary 27We saved the day and the diplomats are safe. War, for now, seems to be dying down, the renegades are dispersing, and the land of Guild Wars 2 is once again quiet. It’s unlikely to last, but it’s time to march on back towards Lion’s Arch and call in on your commander after a job well done. Why rush though, when there are so many things to try out between here and there? Now that you’re at a level to enjoy it, take a look around some of the 30-40 level areas, take in a few events and renown heart quests and watch your level grow.

Neverwinter Beta impressions reviewGames based on the Dungeons and Dragons IP tend to be at least passable (and occasionally fantastic) RPGs, and that’s what I was expecting from Neverwinter, from Cryptic and Perfect World Entertainment. Maybe there’d be an occasional glimpse of promise, a hint at something unusual that might be built upon in future content updates. I’m glad that what Neverwinter actually offered was something far beyond what I’d hoped for. This is a game that plays like some of the great PS2 RPGs (in the vein of The Summoner), but on a bigger multi-user scale. It’s also very, very addictive.
