Shootmania Storm reviewFour bullets, two lives, one game: Shootmania Storm is an absolutely massive shooter that brings back a more retro way of playing an FPS, simplifying the genre completely. There’s no need to change guns, add equipment, perks, killstreaks and all those other timekills that will bog down your experience with needless statistics and constant load-out tweaking, just the skilled and the unskilled. In Shootmania the emphasis is on your place within the community, how well ranked you are not only globally, but in your country, county and more. This places a constant emphasis on getting better and thanks to the easy to pick up and play nature of the game, you’ll feel you’re getting better all the time.

Exploring the World of TERASeravy the unicorn had been purified which had given the faeries of Fay Forest a little more hope for the future, but it had also revealed that there was something dark in the forest, something that shouldn’t be there and that was causing all these problems. I mopped up a few rogue unicorns and got on my way, knowing full well that I’d done almost all I could in the Fey Forest, although returning at a later time really was inevitable. First though I’d need to investigate an area of the woods ‘d never been to, a beautiful but troubled spot that would reveal more about the problems all the people of the forest had been suffering.

SWTOR going free to play and its effectsSo Star Wars: The Old Republic has gone free-to-play, at least up to a point, and that leaves the MMO industry in a very interesting position. The Old Republic looked to be one of the last big AAA MMOs, one of those games that looked to make or break the massively multiplayer world by injecting an influx of new players into our community and ultimately benefit everybody. Instead it’s been successful enough, but not to the level some people expected. It’s not been a “WoW-killer,” it’s not changed the face of the industry. No doubt it’s been a financial success and a critical success, but given that it’s a Bioware game and it had a ton of advertising, what does it say about the MMO genre that it isn’t the biggest game on the market today? What does it say that people have already moved onto other games, or back to World of Warcraft?
