If there's one thing that we got from E3 this year, it's that the MMO world is being invaded by a new breed of gamer. Soon - as in the next six months - MMOs as we know them will be a thing of the past, replaced by a new controller friendly variation of our favourite hobby. The Call of Duty mob are coming, and they're going to leave no stone unturned.

Oh, and bonus points for anybody who read the title in the voice of Galadriel.

We all love something that we recognise, but is that all that matters? With games like Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and The Elder Scrolls Online filling every blog and gaming site, it's obvious that these are names with a lot of clout behind them. But how important is a brand name to the average gamer? Are you more likely to try out something new if it's not all new, or do you put originality before all else?

That's the topic on today's Devil's Daily, and I really want your take on this one, so leave a comment if you have an opinion.

Mark Kern - head of the team behind Firefall - today asked whether MMOs have become too easy. It's a fair question, but it requires a little bit of thought. Kern's answer was "yes, unless you're playing Firefall," although to truly make that statement you need to judge how easy is too easy.

At what point does ease of play stop being a necessary entry tactic and start becoming extreme? On today's Devil's Daily, we look for the answer.
