Aion enters f2p CBT this week

Aion Online is going to be free to play very soon. Actually, it's going to be free to play this week for a bunch of lucky closed beta entrants. These closed beta testers will even have a chance to win rewards for playing in the CBT.

Aion Online is soon joining the free-to-play model of the MMO games industry. NCSoft had announced this in December and the time has come. The game's new free to play mode will launch this week as closed beta and the official launch will follow in February.

When the game is free-to-play, new players, beginners will have access to all areas of the game except for functions such as the chat and auction house. According to NCSoft, they chose to have these limitations to avoid BOTS and virtual currency exchangers. 

Veteran players of Aion, meaning the active players of the game will be classified as Veterans and they will have no limiations and will benefit from bonuses like reduced cool-down times for instances and increased PvP coin rewards.
