Blacklight Retribution is now on Steam

Perfect World's MMOFPS game Blacklight Retribution is now available on Steam. Opening its gates to over 40 million users on Valve's digital distribution service the free to play shooter will reward Steam users with exclusive items in its first week of release. Blacklight Retribution is now available on Steam

Perfect World announced that its free to play MMO shooter "Blacklight Retribution" is now available for distribution on Valve's popular service "Steam". 

To celebrate the Steam launch of Blacklight: Retribution, players on Steam will be rewarded with a free orange Portal weapon tag when they reach level 5. Regular players (like us) shouldn't feel sorry as Perfect World is also offering all players the chance to acquire a blue Portal Weapon tag during the first week of Blacklight's Steam launch.

Clifton Chu, Product Manager, Perfect World Entertainment. said: "We're excited to make Blacklight: Retribution available to all the PC gamers using Steam, the level of competition is going to be raised from intense to cut-throat with the influx of new Steam players."
 

This is most definitely going to place Blacklight Retribution at the top of the list of popular MMOFPS games. (We already listed the MMOFPS in our Top 5 MMOFPS games list) The number of players on Steam network and the availability of this decent and free MMO shooter should produce fantastic results for the publisher. Should the game continue to receive frequent content updates, we could perhaps see Blacklight Retribution as one of the biggest MMOFPS titles in no time.
