Bounty Bay Online shuts down

You might remember it like yesterday, when we published our own review of the open-seas MMORPG "Bounty Bay Online". It has only been nine months since that review and today we found out that the MMORPG is closing its doors next month. The community managers will be hosting some special events in the final weeks of the MMORPG's existence.

In our Bounty Bay Online review, back in December 2011, we said this about the MMO.

"There’s enough here to serve even the most die-hard buccaneer-era fanboys"

From today, no new player will be able to discover this decent high seas - adventure MMO, as Frogster has announced that Bounty Bay Online would be discontinued from September 20th. New player registrations are already disabled and community manager Sarenrae has already said his farewell to the players of the game on the message boards.

So we would like to invite you on our final journey. We won’t peacefully slip beneath the waves, but instead go out in the blaze and thunder of our cannon fire!

There won't be any new players but the existing players can still explore the areas of the oceans where they have never been to. Community guys will be hosing a series of special events in the meantime, in an effort to say good-bye to the game's long time loyal fans.
