Dust 514 will have universal currency

Sony and CCP have been working hard on the upcoming MMOFPS Dust 514 which will be taking place in the same world with EVE Online. The revolutionary game will also have a PS Vita version. Sony and CCP are working on a universal currency solution for PC and console players.

EVE Online and Dust 514 will be synchronizing in the same world. The MMOFPS game Dust 514's players will be joining the world of Eve Online and the game will feature on PS3, PC and now PS Vita.

Just to give you an idea: Eve Gate is going to be the communal hub for the players of Eve Online and Dust 514. At the gate, they will be able to communicate with each other, check their email and check the upcoming events. Posts on CCP blog suggests that the gate is planned to have more functions in the future.

According to the post on Develop-Online, Sony and CCP teams have been working together and Dust 514 has made great progress in its development.

David Reid, CCP’s newly promoted marketing executive, said the meetings with Sony have been frequent and “fantastic”.
“We are both trailblazing together. CCP and Sony are right there in the same room figuring all this out together. I’ve only joined the company for about 72 hours and about half that time is speaking to Sony,” he said.

While Sony and CCP are trying to figure out a way to solve the virtual currency issue by introducing a universal currency for both platforms, there is also a PS Vita version under development. PS Vita version, as you can imagine, will not be as synchronous as the PC and PS3 versions. However, CCP's Petersson (praising the Sony Vita) says -after taking a look at Vita himself- "Sony has been really committed to the game, I believe our (development) teams will have many ideas as soon as Vita is available.
