Miner Wars MMO on unique pre-sale

Keen Software House from Czech Republic today announced the development of their upcoming MMO game: Miner Wars. What makes this announcement a notable one is that the developer is asking players to pre-order the product that needs the pre-sales for its development. 

We have seen pre-orders in PC Games industry. However, this one is a little bit different. According to Keen Software's announcement today, the company is pre-selling its upcoming MMO game "Miner Wars" for $19.99. This price will also allow players to play the game for at least 2 years without worrying about subscription fees.

The development is not even in beta stage yet and according to the developer's announcement, they will be using the revenue from pre-sales to hire more developers and expand their development team to finish the game earlier than planned.

Some of our goals and reasons with pre-selling the MMO:
To determine peoples’ interest in the MMO compared to single/co-op. We may start focusing on the MMO development sooner, so fans will also receive MMO pre-alpha sooner.
To support the developers (funds would enable us to hire a larger team, make the game earlier and better).
To shape how the MMO will look like (not all design details are set in stone) with the help and feedback from our community of gamers.
To generate more interest from our investors to invest additional money in to the MMO.
And to let you save some money with the pre-sale discount price!

We don't know if you would be interested in buying a product that is not even in beta stage but you can just go ahead, download the game and try it for yourself and then make your own decision. According to the developer, over 13k players have already purchased it.
