ArenaNet: Digital edition of Guild Wars 2 has sold out
Guild Wars 2 digital edition has sold out, according to ArenaNet's announcement earlier today. The company also explained how they sold out of the digital distribution keys as everyone wondered how they could sell out of digital edition of a game.

According to ArenaNet, this was done to protect the quality of the online play. In order to keep the servers running healthy. This is a perfect move by the developer as they show players how they value customer satisfaction. ArenaNet also confirmed that players who still want to purchase the game can buy it on BestBuy and Gamestop as both online stores have stock available.
We have sold out of keys for digital distribution in North America. GameStop and Best Buy still have stock available.
We limit sales to ensure we have enough capacity for our customers. We're likely to have capacity available after the initial crunch at the start of the weekend. Players who purchase when we're able to resume digital sales at buy.guildwars2.com will still be able to play for the remainder of the weekend. ~RB2
