The majority of the player community from S9 has witnessed the rapid rise of Hyral through the level rankings to claim the highly coveted number one placing in the level ranks of server 9. Q) Everybody on s9 wonders how you've leveled so fast, took the #1 spot and maintained it. How did you do it? Are there any tips you would give to new players seeking to do well in this game?
A) I make sure to exhaust all sources of ap, buying the maximum allowed each day as well as trying to optimize my use of it to give me as much xp as possible. This would include running instances with and without quests seeing as they yield good xp return for the ap cost. I am very religious when it comes to getting and handing in quests for my instance runs and for finishing normal storyline quests too.
Q) The name Hyral is quite interesting, where did the inspiration for it come from?
A) Hyral is from the last name of one of the characters in Final Fantasy. Delita Heira, also known as Delita Hyral.
Q) What is the most difficult aspect of gaining levels for you?
A) Due to work, it is hard for me to complete and hand in my daily instance quests before they reset. Finding instance team members is also quite hard, meaning I have to take the system merc a lot.
Q) How much time do you spend a day on Dragon's Call to get everything done to a standard you are satisfied with?
A) The time I spent playing is usually spread out throughout the day, on and off depending on my work schedule. Sometimes I multitask with paperwork and Dragon's Call, meaning I lurk a lot. So usually the time I spend in-game is in blocks of 30min to an hour at various times in game.
Q) Is this your first server?
A) I tested the game on each server but quickly noticed it would be incredibly hard, if not impossible, to catch up with most of the players who started before me. I switched to S8 due to this and moved to S9 when it was launched. S9 has now become my permanent home server.
Q) How was the process of getting used to the interface and the basic style of gameplay when you first started?
A) Well, I have a background playing several MMORPGs as well as such games as Diablo and Elder Scrolls...so I caught on to the gameplay/interface layout pretty quickly.
Q) What made you select assassin as your class?
A) I choose assassin as my class because I play it in other games. I usually select the rogue/assassin type classes as they fit my style of gameplay.
Q) What is your favourite thing about Dragon's Call?
A) My favourite thing about the game would have to be the pvp aspect, like arena fights, Sky Arena tournament, duels and of course, guild wars.
Q) And your least favourite?
A) I dislike the lack of people willing to war due to the implementation of the new dodge system during one of the recent patches, which factors in level and makes it hard to defeat players due to level difference.
Q) You've been in a few guilds now, how do you rate the importance of a guild to players?
A) As I mentioned earlier, guild wars are part of my favourite aspect of the game. This means organized and active guilds are important to that area of gameplay. But equally as important is the additional entertainment value of interacting with a group of other players who play this game. I mean, world chat is nice, but it is good to be able to chat with friends from the game without being restricted by the chat rules!
Q) Thanks for your time Hyral : ) Are there any further comments or words of wisdom you would like to impart to your fellow players?
A) I'm a boss!
