LotRO Riders of Rohan: Mounted combat

As Turbine announced on Wednesday, Lord of the Rings Online will receive its biggest expansion ever in Autumn 2012. Riders of Rohan will feature the mounted combat. 

According to the post on Eurogamer Riders of Rohan, the expansion coming in Autumn 2012 for Lord of the Rings Online will have mounted combat. 

Kate Paiz the game's executive producer told Eurogamer more details on this major feature.

Paiz spoke of this feature as "high speed mechanic" that makes players more powerful and then when they're on foot. As it is written in books, Saruman sends out 40 or 50 packs of mounted orcs at a time and they devastate town's people and the landscape of Rohan.

And with Riders of Rohan, players will have something to counter that. On a horse, which has its own skills and fighting abilities in combat, players will not only move much faster compared to a non-mounter character. 

War steeds will be stronger and more trained than the current mounts gibin you skills and abilities and players will be able to customize them all.

"Players will find the mounted combat levelling experience sufficient and robust," Paiz added, "in that they will have opportunities to level their mount throughout the expansion pack and the live plan that we have coming.
