Firefall to launch new version during Gamescom
Red 5 Studios will be at Gamescom for another year to showcase its long awaited open world MMO shooter "Firefall". The game has been in beta for months and this has given the developers enough time to analyze the community feedback, add new content, features and most importantly tune the game. We will see the new version of the game in August and the first ever European tournament of Firefall Beta with cash prizes at Gamescom.
Firefall - Gamescom Special eSports Tournament With 10k Euros Prize
Firefall has been in beta for a while. I had the chance to test the game back in April when Red 5 Studios showed the game to public at PAX East in Boston. To be honest, without a few bugs, the game was very entertaining and its gameplay was solid enough for many developers to go online with it. I assume, Red 5 Studios has a long development road-map and that's why they are taking it slow, adding new features such as the previously announced Manga Affinity, or the new level-less version that was announced later in May. It's all good with the new content and features but there is still no release date for the game and I wouldn't be surprised if the fans of the game from 2011 had already forgotten about the title.

Nevertheless, Firefall will be at Gamescom in Cologne next month to show its latest version. The new content update in August will introduce the new tier-based character progression, new resource mining, crafting, the new Garage, customizable load-out system and the Firefall eSports toolkit.
Talking about eSports, Red 5 Studios is also partnering with eSports League to bring the first ever European Firefall Tournament to Gamescom 2012. There will be 10k Euros in prize money.
